The current situation of Bangkok 2 2008/09/03
Attn All concerned,
Please let us update the current situation of Thailand, as of 9:00 local time, Sep 03. Basically, the situaion is almost same as one of yesterday.
| (1) | Bangkok International (Suvarnabhumi) Airport has been in normal operation so far both for passenger & cargo and there is no delay nor remarkable restriction of approach to the Airport area. The traffic around there also goes quite normal. |
| (2) | The operator in PAT (Port Authority of Thailand) has decided to leave their duty and now the operation at Bangkok Port is NOT available, and most of Shipping Lines have decided to skip Bangkok Port and diverted to Laem Chabang. At this moment, we are not sure until when this situation will continue. Please ship ONLY to Laem Chabang Port for the time being until further announcement from us. |
We have announced yesterday that the union of 43 governmental companies or enterprises have decided for going strike starting from Sep 03, however, actually it did not happen and all of them are open. Thai Customs operation is quite normal and we don't see any remarkable delay for customs clearance. We will keep updating the situation continuously.
