KWE Receives the "Supplier Excellence Award 2007" from Texas Instruments, Inc.2008/07/02
Kintetsu World Express, Inc. ("KWE" Head Office: Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. President and CEO: Hirokazu Tsujimoto. Capital: 7,216 million yen) is pleased to announce that at an award ceremony held at its head office in the afternoon of June 24, that it received the "Supplier Excellence Award 2007" ("SEA"), an award granted by one of the major semiconductor manufacturers in the U.S.A, Texas Instruments, Inc. ("TI" Head Office: Dallas, U.S.A.) in recognition of superior performance by a company involved in the supply industry.
The SEA, since its establishment in 1984, has been awarded annually by TI to one of its worldwide supplier's that has achieved excellence both in the range and quality of services provided.
In 1998, TI further refined its judgment criteria into 6 specific categories being, Cost, Environmental Responsibility, Technology, Responsiveness and Assurance of Supply and Quality, collectively referred to under the acronym "CETRAQ". Contenders for the award are first evaluated under these six categories and where in all categories the required standards are achieved, the ultimate recipient is selected based upon actual results over the past three years.
In 1968, coinciding with the establishment by TI of its first Japanese registered company, KWE commenced its international airfreight handling operations for cargo imported and exported between Japan and other countries. Since that time KWE has expanded these operations and now provides services not just between Japan and other countries, but also between countries such as the Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, U.S. and Holland. In receiving this award, KWE was highly rated in areas such as "Appropriateness of Transport Costs" and "High Quality Transport Time Management".
Mr. Rob Simpson, the Worldwide Procurement & Logistics Vice President together with another representative of the TI Head Office visited Japan to present the SEA award plaque to KWE that was accepted by our President, Mr. Tsujimoto at the SEA award ceremony held on June 24.
