KWE Provides Financial Aid to the Regions affected by the Sichuan Province Earthquake and its Victims 2008/05/30
KWEJ on May 26, in response to the massive earthquake that struck Shicuan province, China, immediately pledged and shortly afterwards donated 10 million yen through the Japanese Red Cross Society to assist the Chinese government's efforts to provide aid to the victims and assist in the reconstruction of the afflicted areas. In addition, Chinese registered companies within the KWE group, centering on Beijing Kintetsu World Express Co., Ltd., have also pledged to provide further financial aid to the Chinese government in its relief efforts.
KWE, since the establishment of our first locally registered company in Hong Kong in 1969, has provided China with a range of both international and domestic freight forwarding services. KWE's present distribution network within China is comprised of more than 110 business sites and has both an office and warehouse in Chengdu.
KWEJ, given our close ties to China and presence within the region, is pleased to have the opportunity to assist those in need.
At this time KWEJ and the entire KWE group would like to extend our sincerest condolences to all the victims of this earthquake. It is hoped that our present and future contributions will assist in the quickest possible reconstruction of the areas devastated by this disaster and a return to a normal life for all those affected.
