A big earthquake occured in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China 3.2008/05/15

At around 14:30 pm on May 12 a big earthquake occured in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China.
As of 15:00 pm on May 14



  • 1.Chengdu Airport
  • Although some of the flights are cancelled or delayed, flights (departure/arrival) are gradually coming back to normal.
  • 2. Airport Customs
  • At this moment customs clearance is not available.
    Customs system of the airport terminal damaged by earthquake is still being repaired now.
    Meanwhile, customs system at the airport building in other terminal is being adjusted for back-up operation.

    Sichuan EPZ Customs
    Customs is open but the situation of the system is same as airport customs.
    Still being repaired.
  • 3. Road situation
  • Highway : Traffic between Chongqing and Chengdu is OK, but very congested.
    Traffic for relief goods is taken top priority.
    General Road : Stopped due to a partially landslide between Chongqing and Chengdu.
  • 4. Railway
  • Freight train for relief goods to Chengdu is taken first priority by the direction of Beijing Railway Authority.
    General goods are held temporary at the nearest station.
    Now general cargoes are not accepted.
