BKWE Commences a New Import Consolidation Service Utilizing the Shanghai Hongqiao - Haneda Air Shuttle

Beijing Kintetsu World Express Co., Ltd. ("BKWE"), one of the registered Chinese companies in the Kintetsu World Express, Inc. group ("KWE"), to correspond with the commencement of flights from Shanghai Hongqiao to Haneda on September 29, on the same day commenced a new consolidation service to take advantage of this route.
This newly introduced import consolidation service utilizes both the morning and afternoon flights from the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.
As Haneda, the port of arrival, does not at present perform customs clearance, after transferring the bonded cargo to the Baraki No.4 Terminal located in Ichikawa city, Chiba prefecture (or alternatively according to client's needs, Narita Airport's cargo handling area in Narita city, Chiba prefecture) import customs clearance procedures are performed. Customs cleared cargo is then delivered to the destination designated by our clients in accordance with our company's distribution procedures.
The features of this service are as follows:
- At present four airlines, ANA, JAL, Shanghai Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, fly this route from Shanghai Hongqiao to Haneda. KWE utilizes the services of each of these airlines’ morning and afternoon flights.
- While there are limits on customs clearance at the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, concentrating on exporters within the Shanghai customs office area, the purpose of this new service is at the moment to increase the amount of cargo loaded by multiple exporters through the consolidation service.
- Bonded transferring of cargo arriving at Haneda Airport to our Baraki No.4 Terminal in Baraki, Ichikawa city is performed. (In some instances to the Narita Airport cargo handling area.)
- The Tokyo Customs Tokyo Air Cargo Department has an office in Baraki. At KWE’s Baraki No.4 Terminal customs declaration duties are performed by our Customs Clearance Department. Within this terminal, cargo sorting in the bonded area is possible.
- As a general rule Baraki Customs Clearance (Customs clearance at Baraki) is possible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Further, as Baraki is closer to Central Tokyo than Narita Airport this reduces the total time required for cargo delivery.
- KWE's Baraki No.4 Terminal has a full line up of logistics and domestic distribution functions, making possible a wide range of distribution options according to the urgency of delivery.
By utilizing the features described above, import customs clearance is available on the same day that cargo arrives at Haneda Airport, and where a morning flight is used, provided there is import customs clearance, same day shipment is possible.
For cargo shipped on an afternoon flight, provided there is import customs clearance on the same day as its arrival at Haneda Airport, a consolidated delivery service by the morning of the following day is possible. (Delivery times apply only to cargo delivered within the Greater Tokyo Metropolitan area.)
KWE by taking advantage of the future internationalization of Haneda Airport and through the effective utilization of our Baraki located facilities will, in accordance with market demand trends, continue to provide a rapid freight forwarding service from this area.
