Acquisition of license to market and lease high-level controlled medical devices at KWE Baraki No. 4 Terminal
2007/09/21
KWE has acquired a license to conduct marketing and leasing activities at the Baraki No. 4 Terminal (Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture) for its high-level controlled medical devices on August 1, 2007.
Pursuant to the Revised Pharmaceutical Affairs Law of April 2005, KWE acquired a license to manufacture medical devices for its Terminal in April 2006 and then for cosmetic products in July of that year. This license made possible the consignment of a portion of the manufacturing processes (packaging, labeling, warehousing) effectuated by medical device and cosmetic product makers by KWE. Now, with the acquisition of a high-level controlled medical device sales and leasing license, the products that have completed the abovementioned manufacturing process may be shipped by KWE directly to hospitals and distributors in accordance to the directives of the makers.
KWE advanced a "Valuable Logistics" concept as part of its 4 basic business strategies provided in the "21st Century KWE Grand Design" business plan formulated in 2002. In order to give customers higher added-value logistics services, KWE believes it is one of its top priorities to enhance its services and improve quality with respect to pharmaceuticals, quasi-drugs, devices and cosmetics.
The Baraki No. 4 Terminal, the facility that acquired the high-level controlled medical device sales and leasing license, is located in Ichikawa, a city in Chiba Prefecture located between Tokyo and Narita Airport enabling rapid logistic response for emergency use of drugs and devices. Further, KWE has hired and allocated a team of specialists with pharmacist and scientific credentials doing its utmost to foster human resources skilled at handling pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Now and into the future, KWE shall meet every logistics outsourcing need of pharmaceuticals and medical products related companies and strive to provide "One Stop Service" that encompasses all aspects of international shipping, customs and transportation, KWE's core business.
