KWE (Shanghai) Commences Operations of a Large-scale Warehouse Facility (46,000㎡) in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone

Shanghai Kintetsu Logistics Co., Ltd. ("KWE (Shanghai)"), one of the companies within the KWE group registered in China, on July 19 commenced full-scale operations of its new large-scale warehouse facility (46,000㎡) located within the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Shanghai. While prior to this opening, KWE (Shanghai), through its 3 bonded warehouses (total warehouse space: Approx. 35,000㎡) continued to expand its warehousing operations, increased demand lead to increased pressure on this limited warehouse space. Accordingly it was decided to close 2 of the existing warehouses and open this new large-scale warehouse facility, meaning that at present KWE (Shanghai) is operating two integrated warehouse facilities within the free trade zone.
Features of this warehouse facility:
- * 4 dedicated warehouses and 1 combined warehouse and office, with a total floor space of 46,000㎡ making it one of the largest such facilities within the industry in Shanghai and the largest warehouse operated by KWE.
- * The warehouse services more than 400 clients.
- * Given the great demand by home appliance and hi-tech manufacturing related companies that are concentrated in the manufacturing hubs located in east China, a full range of VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) services are offered.
- * In line with the recently increased needs for medical related products, 4,000㎡ of space where temperature controlled (refrigerated storage) is possible have been established.
- * One of the warehouses has received the warehouse security standard TAPA(Transported Asset Protection Association) class A certification through its establishment of comprehensive security systems.
In addition to KWE (Shanghai) commencing operations of this large-scale warehouse facility, Beijing Kintetsu World Express Co., Ltd. ("BKWE") is also presently constructing a large-scale domestic cargo warehouse facility (approx. 42,000㎡) in the Shanghai region that is expected to commence operations this Autumn. Through expansion of warehousing operations such as those outlined above, KWE continues to meet its clients increasingly diversified distribution needs and to expand its operations within China aiming to achieve a level of services that even when compared to competitors who are conducting similar expansion programs is unparalleled within the industry.
