KWE Enters into an Operations Tie-Up with the Russia Railways Subsidiary JSCO TransContainer.

Kintetsu World Express, Inc. ("KWE" Head Office: 1-6-1 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. President and Representative Director: Hirokazu Tsujimoto. Capital: 7,216 million yen) will enter into a comprehensive agency agreement for Japan with JSCO TransContainer ("TC") a 100% owned subsidiary of Russia Railways in respect of the Trans Siberian Railway route that will be signed by the companies on July 26 in Moscow.

This new cargo transport service provides ocean transport from major ports in Japan to Vostochny, the port district of Vladiovostock that is on the east coast of Russia and then from Vostochny by rail to major cities in west Russia such as Moscow and St. Petersburg.

TC is the largest subsidiary of Russia Railways specializing in cargo transport and while to date it has agencies in both South Korea and China, the present agencies agreement to be entered into with KWE will enable it to establish a fully-fledged route originating from Japan.

Further, while details of this agency agreement will be provided at the press conference to be held in Russia on July 26 to coincide with the formal signing of this agreement, in Japan following on from the establishment of new organizational structures dedicated to the sales and operations of this service and the creation of a system for dispatch of TC's representative staff in Japan, KWE in cooperation with TC plans to begin sales activities for this service from next month (August, 2007).
