KWE (India) Establishes its 9th Business Site, a Branch Office in Coimbatore
~The First Start-up in this Area by a Japanese Freight Forwarder~
Strengthened Systems Focused on Imports for Multi-National
Start-Ups and Export of Local Goods

Kintetsu World Express (India) Pvt. Ltd. (Head Office: Bangalore, "KWE (India)"), a locally registered company that is part of the Kintetsu World Express, Inc. (TSE:9375) group, is pleased to announce the establishment of its 9th business site. This new office, that commenced full-scale operations on 15 January, is located in Coimbatore city in the west of TamilNadu, a state in southern India. At present KWE (India) is the only Japanese based freight forwarder with an operational base in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore, located approximately 500km west of Chennai, is a prosperous commercial city, that centering on the cotton textile industry, has a population of approximately 1.3 million. Further, in the state capital of Chennai and another of the state's major cities Madurai, multi-national automotive, home appliance and machinery related manufacturers from Japan, the U.S. and Korea have established plants.

In terms of logistics and trade, the international airports in Chennnai and Tiruchirapalli and port facilities in Chennnai and Cochin make this region an international logistics gateway for freight import and export. As a locally based office the newly established Coimbatore branch, in addition to handling existing local corporate clients that to date have dealt with the previously established Chennai sales office, will function to improve the quality of existing services in the area and to strengthen our export business centering on the region's core apparel industry.

In the 9 years since KWE (India) established its head office in Bangalore, it has grown to a network of 8 business sites that employ approximately 100 people. While until recently the CEO of KWE (India) and the managers of each sales office have been appointed from within the local community, given the forecast expansion in this region's business, in December of last year a Japanese manager was appointed and from this point onwards KWE is aiming to further strengthen its international freight forwarding and logistics services within India to meet the needs of multi-national corporations, including Japanese companies, that have established or will establish businesses in this area.
