BKWE (China) Tianjin Branch becomes the First Japanese Forwarder to Establish its own Warehouse in the Tianjin Logistics Park

The Tianjin Branch of Beijing Kintetsu World Express Co., Ltd. ("BKWE"), a company registered in China that is part of the Kintetsu World Express, Inc. ("KWE") group, has established its own warehouse within the Tianjin Logistics Park. This warehouse commenced full-scale operations on 18 September.
Tianjin City, being located only 120km South-East of Beijing, has become an overseas base for many manufacturers including major Japanese carmakers and related companies. Further a large scale European aircraft manufacturer is also expected to establish a plant in the near future. In addition, being an area notable for enterprise start-ups by companies such as mobile phone makers aiming to sell to the domestic market, further economic growth can be expected.
While to date the Tianjin Branch of BKWE has been providing logistical services within the Tianjin Logistics Park to specified client corporations through tie-ups with existing Chinese companies, given the increased demand for services within the Tianjin Logistics Park by a number of clients, it was decided to commence independent operations within the park. By the end of this year KWE forecasts that it will commence providing independent services to four major Japanese manufacturers within the Tianjin Logistics Park. After the commencement of these services, our client corporations, through utilizing the Tianjin Logistics Park at the time of export or domestic sales of locally produced goods, will be able to receive tax reimbursements on added value as well as being able to warehouse products for a long-term under a foreign company name.
At present within the Tianjin Logistics Park, local warehousing companies are providing logistical services on commission from Japanese companies. However, with the opening of our own warehouse, it is now possible for a Japanese logistics company to independently provide these services for the first time.
The existing Tianjin Branch of BKWE is comprised of 2 business sites, namely the central office in downtown Tianjin (29 staff) and a satellite office in the Tianjin Economic and Technical Development Zone (4 staff) as well as an operations division at the Tianjin Airport (63 staff). These business sites together with our export warehouse (8,600㎡) and domestic freight warehouse (1,100㎡) provide a comprehensive service to about 120 companies that includes air and sea export, domestic delivery and warehousing. It is believed that the addition of the Tianjin Logistics Park warehousing service to the KWE group will further strengthen our comprehensive network to fulfill our promise of being a "One-Stop Service Provider".
